Montrose Contemporary

Houston, Texas

The focus of this kitchen was to create a less-is-more design with fresh, high-end styling and updated with the latest features, appliances, and accessories that came together to earn “Best in Show—Residential” at the 2017 ASID Ruby Awards and a cover story in Texas Gulf Coast Design Magazine, both spotlighting this design by Missy Stewart.

The choice of Brookhaven cabinetry with a dark matte java finish on a transitional shaker door creates a high-style contrast to the white quartz countertop with bold veining. The island affords additional work space and houses an under-counter wine refrigerator used for entertaining.

Adjacent to the kitchen are two stand-alone custom Wood-Mode armoires flanking the fireplace designed for additional storage in the living area.

The powder room features Brookhaven cabinets with a matte-twilight finish on rich, maple wood.
